The SFMS Veterans Day Celebration, honoring approximately 100 community veterans and their families, is November 10, 2023.

Do you know a Veteran?

All SFMS students who have a family member or friend who is a veteran are encouraged to share their info. We would love to include them in our Evite for the event.  Click here The order of events begins with check-in from 7:45-8:00 am in the front office, followed by a buffet breakfast from 8:00-9:00 am, for veterans and their significant others in the SFMS Gymnasium. Immediately following the breakfast, we will have a Celebration of Veterans Program from 9:00-10:30am.

ABOUT THE EVENT

This very special SFMS event traditionally honors approximately 100 community veterans and their families. The morning begins with a breakfast followed by the Celebration of Veterans Program.  Our SFMS students collaborate with the staff, administration, PTA, and community volunteers to make it an unforgettable morning for all.  Student groups spend weeks preparing the program, special music, posters, notes, etc.  Students and parent volunteers greet the veterans upon arrival and enjoy serving and visiting them throughout the breakfast.

This student-led program is attended by the SFMS student body, and our honorees and their families. The veterans parade into their seats, followed by an introduction of each veterans, slide show, guest speaker, and numerous student group performances.  All veterans also receive a small gift of appreciation, and handwritten note of thanks. Our SFMS students collaborate with the staff, administration, PTA, and community volunteers to make it an unforgettable morning for all. This student-led program is attended by the SFMS student body, our honorees, and their families. It is an honor for our school to carry on this tradition and show the veterans the gratitude they so dearly deserve.
